Why Jefferson, NC?

Jefferson, NC is a quaint little town nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are lots of beautiful hills and hopefully in October there will be lots of changing leaves. Twickenham House is a beautiful estate set on the top of its own mountain with views of NC, TN, and VA.

The Western Carolina Mountains have a special place in both our hearts, which is why we chose this location to share our special time with our loved ones. Thank you for making the time and trip to spend this moment with us.

Unfortunately, Twickenham House seems to be about 3 hours from everywhere! In the words of Ulysses Everett McGill, "Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity?"

Fly in to wherever is cheapest & easiest. Unfortunately, there isn't a large airport very close to Jefferson, NC, so you will have to drive from another major city. We have lots of friends and family driving from the Spartanburg, SC and Hendersonville, NC areas, so carpooling is the best way to go!

• Large Airports: Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP), Charlotte Douglas (CLT), Piedmont Triad (GSO), and Raleigh-Durham (RDU). These are the options I recommend.

• Small Airports: Asheville Regional (AVL), Hickory Regional (HKY), Ashe County (GEV), and Foothills Regional (KMRN). I have never flown to these locations and never plan to, so as far as recommendations go - just be safe!

Thank you for making the trip, we know it's a long drive!

Max and I have driven two different routes from Spartanburg, SC to Jefferson, NC, and at the end of the day they were both about the same. It comes down to how fast you prefer to drive and how scenic you like the roads. The last 30 minutes of the trip will be rural, curvy, and full of beautiful mountain views!

Google shows 1329 Phoenix Coward Road or Johnson Hollow Road Jefferson, NC 28640 - both will get you there!
